1st Day
"The past and the future, the two parts of life, one of which we know and the other which we do not". It is in this way that the memories from Verdun in 1916 will never be forgotten. However, Verdun was not born in 1916. More than 2000 years old, the town contains many sites and monuments to discover along its medieval streets. The capital of peace, the town has also been the capital of the dragée (sugared almond) since 1220.
Arrival in Verdun in the end of the morning.
Lunch : at the restaurant Coq Hardi in the centre.
Afternoon : from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. : discover the battlefields through a guided tour :
- Memorial Museum
- Fort Douaumont
- Douaumont Ossuary
- Bayonet Trench
Evening and night spent in the hotel in double room.
2nd Day
Breakfast at the hotel
Morning: visit the town at your leisure, including the Underground Citadel, the Dragées Braquier factory (sugared almonds) and the World Peace Centre.
